The Mason City Clinic Charitable Giving Committee recently awarded grants to several organizations in the North Iowa area. Established in 1990, the committee "supports funding for projects that enhance health, safety and educational programs in North Iowa communities," according to a release. 2017 awards include: My Happy Haven ($1,500), One Vision ($1,700), Charles H. MacNider Art Museum ($3,000), Francis Lauer Youth Services ($2,500), Mason City Schools Art Department ($2,100), NIACC Foundation ($15,000), Newman Foundation ($5,000), Exceptional Opportunities ($600), Mason City Schools ($2,000), Rake First Responders, ($550), Charlie Brown Day Care Center ($2,550), and City of Mason City ($10,000).
